What Is Good

  • Tessa Thompson
  • Funny One liners
  • Cutting Edge Effects

What Is Bad

  • Writing
  • Editing
  • Unnecessary spin-off by Sony Pictures
Bottom Line: An unnecessary addition to Men in black franchise.

Story

After the low key reception to Men in black 3, years later arrives the spin-off for the franchise with an exciting new star cast with a female protagonist as well in Men in black international.  Here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net Men in Black international review.

The movie begins from where men in Black 3 ended and now London has a branch for MiB. Molly joins MiB after finding their base and now she's made to team up with agent H by High T, the head of the branch. Now together Molly and Agent H have to travel across the globe fighting aliens. And, the trouble is not just aliens, they also have a mole inside the MIB and they have to get rid of it too.

Star Performance

Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson form a great hilarious combo and are good in both action and comedy and come good. Liam Neeson is classy as always. Emma Thompson is good and carries the good work from the previous installments and the rest of the cast including Rebecca Ferguson are adequate. The casting has been good in the spin-off, but it is no match for Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones. Maybe, we hope we can see both the legends in the MIB franchise one more time.

Techinical Team

Background score by Danny Elfman and Chris bacon raise the scenes which mostly fall flat while cinematography by Stuart Dryburgh is impressive. Editing by Christian Wagner must have been better. The writing has been cringe-worthy as there are no scenes with logic. In fact, Liam Neeson turns to an alien as he is consumed by them. Gary Gray who is known for some biggies has just let down a big thing in MIB franchise.

Analysis

After Fate of the furious, Gary gray returns with Men in black international which falls flat right from the word go. With a combination that look unconventional the director fails to buildup interesting sequences and has focused only on the visual effects rather than screenplay. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson try hard to resurrect the movie with their fun and action packed acts but despite rich technical values and casting, Men in black international is all set to be a disastrous outing in the franchise.
