New Delhi sources stated that tyre manufacturer JK Tyre & Industries is looking to expand its presence in the two and three wheeler segment, by adding more originally equipment manufacturers (OEMs) into its customers list. According to a top company official Rajiv Prasad president (India operations) JK Tyre & Industries told "Just like the way we command a leadership position in the truck and bus space, we would like to have a similar position in the two and three wheeler segment soon as well".
New Delhi sources reported that Indian arm of Japanese car manufacturer Honda has registered monthly domestic sales of 9,143 units in April 2018, against 14,480 units in the corresponding month last year. Earlier the company exported 452 units during April 2018, against 442 units in April 2017.

New Delhi sources have stated as per recent report that the auto industry is left with a huge inventory of BS – III vehicles whose value is estimated to be about Rs 5,000 crore, informed Society of Indian Automobile manufacturers while mentioning sales figures for March 2017 and fiscal 2017. SIAM said that over 1.2 lakh units of BS-III vehicles remained unsold across India. Most of these vehicles are either commercial vehicles or two-wheelers and are a part of dealer's inventory.
