Sources from Tiruchy had stated that round the-clock security is being provided to the offices and residences of two city based Ministers as a precautionary measure to avert any untoward incident. In addition to the city police, Armed Reserve personnel have also been deployed for bandobust duty on a shift basis at the residences of Ministers ‘Vellamandi’ Natarajan and S. Valarmathi.
Police sources have stated that a six member police team each has been deployed at the residences of Mr. Natarajan and Ms. Valarmathi, who were elected from Tiruchy East and Srirangam assembly constituencies respectively. Bandobust has been provided to the offices of the MLAs representing Tiruchy East and Srirangam assembly constituencies.
An officer in the rank of Inspector has been nominated to
head the security teams keeping round-the-clock vigil at the offices and
residences of the two Ministers. Security has also been provided to the
residence of Agriculture Minister R. Duraikannu, representing Papanasam
assembly constituency in Thanjavur district. The police personnel have also
been deployed at the offices and residences of Perambalur MLA Ilambai
Tamizhchelvan and Kunnam MLA R.T. Ramachandran, sources have said.
